Each class is limited to the first FIFTEEN people to sign up – this GUARANTEES INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION. This class is designed for maximum student participation. Students get the chance to ask questions, to learn, and to practice in class. They are given assignments each session to take home for practice during the week. The course is comprised of 12 2-hour sessions. At least two of the twelve sessions are complete practice exams.

The first four weeks of the class are devoted to learning and practicing strategies on all sections of the SAT. A full practice SAT exam is administered on the fifth week. Based on a statistical analysis of the practice test, students spend the remainder of the class working on the areas they need the most help with.

FOCUS:

• How to solve Math problems on the SAT.
• Reviewing and practicing the Writing and Critical Reading sections – with strategies to conquer each.
• Test taking skills that will help on any test you take – in any class.
• Individual SAT score goal-setting.

RESULTS
:

• Average improvement for students in the class is over 200 points
• Greatest improvement is over 400 points!
• Math scores have improved almost over 100 points on average
• Writing scores have improved over 100 points on average
• Reading scores have improved 55 points on average

TRAINING:

Education – I have a BA in Psychology from UC Davis and a JD from University of the Pacific
Experience – I have been teaching this course for over ten years, helping hundreds of students in Ashland and around the Rogue Valley improve their SAT scores. I taught Junior High English before I went to Law School. My other professional experience includes civil litigation practice, independent feature film production, commercial finance, and journalistic writing. For five years I worked as an internal consultant at GE Commercial Finance. One of my largest responsibilities was teaching statistics to the executives of the company and preparing them for a mandatory statistics exam.
Research – I spent a year researching the SAT exam and preparing my course strategy and materials. This research included working with another independent SAT Prep course instructor in California who has been successfully teaching the course for almost ten years (over 1400 students).

Eric,
The class was enjoyable and helped me spot my weaknesses. I was then able to help improve these areas, getting my scores higher and higher each time. I'm glad I took the class even though I am a sophomore. It showed me what to work on the most. Thanks.

Dear Eric,
I was impressed that Claire's test scores rose so substantially, was it 150 points in English and 100 in math? She enjoyed the class and the results were impressive. I appreciated the updates and continued communication from you. I am so impressed by your thoughtfulness, and your steadfast devotion to the kids. You were responsible and thoughtful to work with and I do highly recommend you. If there is any way I can further your future in this SAT test course I am more than willing. Thank you Eric.

Eric,
I liked the way I could chart my improvements. The practice tests were great. I really liked you as a teacher. You are very knowledgeable. You weren’t faking it. You know what you are doing. I’ll let you know how I do in June. I really feel after taking this class that my goals are achievable. That’s fantastic! Thanks.
